  • Prevent outdoor heat from leaking in through your window air conditioner unit with the Jebb Indoor AC Cover #3560.4.

Water Heating

  • No Cost: Use the cold-water cycle for laundry.

Major Appliances

  • No Cost: Keep your refrigerator three-quarters full, so it will work at maximum efficiency.

Lighting

  • No Cost: Turn off the lights when not in use.
  • Replacing a 100-watt incandescent light bulb with a 25-watt compact fluorescent bulb will save 135 kilowatt hours of electricity and nearly 200 pounds of carton dioxide emissions annually. Cost: $3.25 and up.

Small Appliances

  • No Cost: Run your dishwasher at night, to avoid overheating your kitchen.
  • Cooking dinner? Turn off your stove. Use your Microwave and save an average of 75%.
  • Even when electronic devices are turned off, they use energy. Unplug your toaster, stereo, DVD player and games. Save over $200 a year.
